I am about to close my first fuel tank and would like to know what
others have done to secure the wire on the float into the body of the
sensor. When the wire on the float is pushed into the sensor it is
still able to rotate so the the float rotates fore and aft in the tank
as the tank is moved.
Is this normal or do I need to do something to "lock" the wire into the
sensor body to keep it from rotating.
By the way, I tried "glueing" the wire in with pro-seal but it doesn't
have enough grip on the wire to keep it rotating.
Thanks

You actually put a 90-degree hook in the wire and that inserts into
the hole of the sender, the arm then snaps into the plastic (this is
on the SW floats), which keeps it from rotating.

Take a look at the instructions again, I missed this also and had to pull the senders to fix. A small 90 degree bend is required to "LOCK" them into position.

The wire is pushed into the sender body and the 90 degree bent tab on the end of the wire goes into a hole that keeps it (the wire) from rotating. This is not an option, it must be installed that way. There should have been directions and dimensions with the sender assy.

If you look closley at the instructions you will see that the wire
makes a small 90 degree bend at the end in the plastic assembly and is
captured in a hole for this purpose. It is easy to miss.

There is an 8 1/2 x 11 (A size) drawing that came with the floats (I think?)
that shows a 3/4" bend on the end of the wire. This keeps the float from
turning once it is snapped into the sender.

You have to make a bend in the end of the wire at 90 deg to fit in the
hole...approx. 1/4" long; then snap the wire in the plastic wire mount.
This prevents the float wire from twisting in the mount. I sat in my shop
and looked at the drawings for about 20 minutes before it dawned on me.
