After a month and a half of gathering tools, getting the garage set
up and worrying about whether or not I can actually build my own
airplane I'm taking the plunge. I'll be sending a check tomorrow for
an RV-9 tail kit. Man, I can't wait to get started!

Dont worry Tom, the 9 is a pretty high tech kit and I thought it went
together pretty easy. I started mine a little over a year ago and havent been
able to leave it alone since. Working on FWF now, and shooting for end of
June or first of July (july 4 maybe?) test flight. Have 1450 hours logged,
and anticipate 250 to finish

Thanks for the encouragement Kevin. I've been over the preview plans
set several times and I'm really pretty confident that I have the
skills necessary.
It sounds like you are going to be flying soon. Good Luck and have
fun!

Tom, I just received the fuse kit Friday and am amazed for third time the
efficeint operation that Van must have to get all those parts produced, crated
and shipped to me in such fine shape. All parts are accounted for. Also, upon
checking, I find that the parts are well made and can easily see that this kit
will go together much easier than the -6A fuse that I have been helping with
for the last year and a half. Not having to locate all those holes is going to
save loads of time.
I am almost done with the wings and I started in November with the eppenage. My
buddy with the -6A is amazed at the speed of this kit. I credit the fact that I
have gained many skills working with him which means I can quickly read the
instructions and plans and turn alluminum into airplane parts.
