I ordered my empennage kit by mail on 5-19 and today (5-31) the UPS
man came to my door with 2 big boxes. Wow, I guess I really am going
to build an airplane!
The inventory went well, and I could find no shipping damage. The
only concern I have is that 8 out of 10 HS904's have diagonal
scratches on them that are deep enough to feel with your fingernail.
These appear to have been on the sheet of aluminum before processing
because the scratches go across the flange, around the bend and
across the web, passing Through a lightening hole. I am a bit
concerned that these scratches are deep enough to cause stress cracks
later. I will talk to Van's about these parts tomorrow.
Anyone else have anything that looks like this?
