going to builders groups, EAA chapter meetings etc, to show people our

Chris, I don't know if you got my last email but I'll try again. I'm finishing RV-9 #111 and need some help with the panel. I'm ready to buy the Apollo SL30, SL70 and MD-200 along with your Approach cables. But I'm wanting to utilize the EXPBUS and Indicator Module from Control Vision for circuit protection and monitoring. Basically I need some direction in properly wiring everything. Chris: Thanks for the reply. I chatted with your reps at OshKosh back
in July, and I will be a candidate for the Pro version of your product.
I live on Cape Cod, and am currently finishing my empennage kit for the
RV-9A. I am also a member of the BostonRVBuilders group (A.K.A. the New
England Wing of the Van's Air Force, or NEWVAF). Periodically, we have
RV fly-ins and get-togethers, and would welcome a presentation from you
guys. A number of us are planning EFIS displays for our panels, and the
Pro version will handle everything I want to do plus back-ups and
additional radios, with expansion capability built-in for the future.
Your boards and harnesses make it possible for us to do our own panel
wiring and interfaces without having to send it out to a custom panel
builder. I love "plug-and-play"! Perhaps you could arrange for a rep
to visit us at our next gathering, when it occurs (date as yet

Dave, I just completed my panel using the same Apollo units you plan to use in my RV-9. I'm not a high tech electronics guy but I did make my own avionics harnesses and the equipment works. I wonder however how much it would have cost me to hire an avionics person to do the work instead? For the benefit of anyone else reading in also I strongly recommend buying the firewall forward kit at the same time you buy the finishing kit. You have to have the panel wired to complete the finishing kit and without the basic electric harness and wiring instructions van includes in the FWF kit I was breaking very new ground. Overall the wiring took me over three months but time is only relative. I've several comments that may save you some headaches, you can call me at (315) 675-9876 I live in Syracuse NY.S

Be careful here! I took my pre-punched panel to a local avionics shop at PTK and was WAY over charged to the tune of $3,200. to wire and "clean" my radio and transponder. You need to know what you need, get a solid estimate, and monitor ALL costs. I've learned the hard way that not all people in aviation are in it for the "love of flying". Do not trust ANY shop until you have learned they are worthy of that trust!

Dave, I just completed my panel using the same Apollo units you plan to use in my RV-9. I'm not a high tech electronics guy but I did make my own avionics harnesses and the equipment works. I wonder however how much it would have cost me to hire an avionics person to do the work instead? For the benefit of anyone else reading in also I strongly recommend buying the firewall forward kit at the same time you buy the finishing kit. You have to have the panel wired to complete the finishing kit and without the basic electric harness and wiring instructions van includes in the FWF kit I was breaking very new ground. going to builders groups, EAA chapter meetings etc, to show people our
