I am working on the fiberglass tips and doing the final adjustments
to the rod end bearings for the elevators and rudder. The elevators
worked out great and the rudder seems to have been even easier (must
have been the practice).
One thing that I have noted, though, is that there is a difference in
the gap between the vertical stab and the rudder from the top to the
bottom.
The gap between the rudder counterbalance and the top of the
stabilizer is constant. On assembly, all the bearings and brackets
lined up perfectly the first time.
Measuring from the aft edge of the vertical stabilizer skin to the
rivets on the rudder spar. There is a visible difference in the gap!
Top - 25/32"
Bottom - 1 1/4"
