Can anybody point me to the website for the tube type wing tanks that
a couple guys had at Oshkosh that mount through some wing rib
lightening holes and get filled through an access door on the tip? I
believe they add around 4 gallons per side and are relatively
inexpensive and simple. I have been to the website before but all my
searches right now are coming up blank. I am about to order the wing
kit and am thinking about the other items I will go ahead and get now
(lights, etc), and with my IFR dreams of this plane, I am thinking
some extra fuel might be nice for reserves.
Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
They had an ad in Kitplanes and Sport Aviation. I found them once at
something like rvfuelcells.com.

The Extended Range Tanks you're asking about are manufactured by
Hotel Whiskey Aviation. SafeAir1 is the exclusive distributor for
HWA "ER" Tanks. RV4 and RV6 ER Tanks are currently available and we
are developing tanks for the RV7/RV8/and RV9. We think the RV9, with
only 36 gallons of fuel, will benefit from ER Tanks because many
builders are choosing 150+ horsepower engines. From the standpoint
of design, the RV9's longer wings will lend themselves to longer ER
Tanks.
Saving a fuel stop, or two, on a cross country trip improves the
performance of your airplane, essentially making it faster. Of
course, performance is great, but we feel that the ability to carry
more fuel improves overall safety by allowing you to increase
your "personal minimums" while increasing your range.
Over the next few days, pricing and additional details and images of
ER tank installations will be posted to the SafeAir1 website at
www.SafeAir1.com
