Don, Shirley and RV9 Gang,
The anodizing test of the wing rib was a huge success. After getting the
major "thumbs up" from the local chapter and senior builders, the rest of
the wing ribs and hinge brackets will be done tonight.
The only prep I had to do was drill out and dimple. I didn't have to de-bur
the lightning holes, as the anodizing process smoothes those edges very
nicely. I'll figure out how to get a pix or two on the group somehow. When
you consider all the steps and exposure to priming, and that I'll have a
lighter, better protected finished product, anodizing is a good alternative
if you have access to a small anodizing shop.

Phil,

Great news! I thought you would like the results, but didn't think it would
even help with the deburring. Now, for the others who don't have access to
an anodizing shop, go to http://www.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize99.html
I have been doing small parts for a couple of years and it is a pretty easy
process, although much easier in cool or cold weather. Let us know how all
the rest turns out.

Thanks Bob,
This guys operation is pretty simple. He uses the heavy duty rubberware tubs
and can handle pieces a little larger than the main wing ribs. He can run
four ribs in about 1 hour fifteen minutes.

Talk to you soon

Phil
