I am posting this information only because I used to get motivated
every time someone would post their flight info. So I hope it helps
keep others on task and moving forward to the time when you can also
report your numbers. Today was my 5th flight, three way timed cruise
at 2450 rpm, 0-320 D1A, sensenich fixed pitch prop, 4000 ft.. Average
3 way speed without any fairings, no paint was 160 mph. I think this
thing is going to do very well when it's all dressed up. Also, it
takes some practice to get it to slow down and come down. I flew a
Cessna 150 for years and almost never had a go around. Well, I've had
2 in the 9A over the past 3 days. It's NOT hard to land. It just
wants to keep flying. Keep building. Jack N489JE

Just you wait until you get those fairings on.
Your first few landings will be go arounds because it REALLY wants to
keep flying when clean.

Jack
Congrats, and yes the speed will come up to a nice level. I just
did some more GPS runs and came up with:
2580 rpm, 2500 feet, 189 mph
2400 rpm, 2500 feet, 175 mph
I used one of the many GPS TAS excel files that are floating around
the web to make the calculations.
I have an O-320 D2G with a Sensenich 79" pitch prop.
About needed to make go arounds. If you are having problems getting
your speed down, make sure your engine idle speed is low enough and
try makeing aggressive slips. That nice big rudder makes scrubbing
off speed quite easy. I've found that I can come in pretty high and
hot, slip it on down and still hit the numbers.
Have fun

Great report Cam. I get questions from my hanger neighbors all the
time. How fast do you expect this thing to be? I got the same
question from the A&P who helped me with some FWF stuff. When I tell
them 185 mph cruise, 45 mph stall, they get this "yeah, right" look
on their face. Can't wait to take them for a ride when I get the
fairings on and finish phase 1 testing. Or better yet, just blow by
them sometime at a safe distance. Jack N489JE
