well...............

it was not a RV flying grin but I can't seem to get the smile off my
face.

Today I taxied my rv9a subie 2.5L for the first time up to the run
up area here at spanish springs airport to set the prop pitch.

it was exilerating just to move it under its own power for the first
time.

It felt like a bird wanting to fly.

I set the warp drive at 17 degrees for the initial test. We are at
4620 here and the baro was 29.90

after setting the calibration on the EIS to "2" and varifying the RPM
with a reflective RPM reader It ran up to 3920 rpm at WOT.
Close enough to Jans reccommened 4000 static. It was screaming.

I then did some low speed taxi to see if the nose wheel was tight
enough to not sqiggle at speeds. the 22lbs break away that vans
reccommends is good, the nose was solid on this dirt runway.

Jan.... thank you, that is an awesome FWF package you produce,
everyone here at this airport was really impressed.

This is going to be a great x-country machine for my wife and I.

So you aren't going with the Eggenfeller recommended Quinti CS prop? What
diameter of "Warp Drive" are you using and it is three or four blades? Please
post the numbers you get with it after it's flying...I am considering a Warp
Drive on my 9A as well...
