Have any of you came up with a tow bar design that works good for the
nose wheel planes such as the 9A? If so how does it look and attach?

My dad came up with a simple one that he welded together in min. time and has
a simple screw jack on the end to lock it into place...I'll take a digital in
the next few days and post it...

Ken, a number of RV9A pilots are happy with the Deluxe Cessna Tow Bar. When you install the wheel pants, you just have to bend the bar a bit. It fits over the cap screws that hold the wheel pants on. I bought mine over the internet two years ago for $35.

Be careful with the tow bars on your RV's. When my plane was at the
paint shop they ripped the nose wheel fairing apart with the tow bar.
The plane was finshed and just waiting for me to pick it up so they
were putting it out front as kind of an advertising thing for
themselves. Anyway while rolling it out they kinked the nosewheel
which as you know is very easy with these planes when going backward.
When trying to fight the wheel from kinking with the nose wheel they
ripped the newly painted wheelpant apart. I have the tow bar in the
hanger in the corner now, but haven't used it since the plane came
home. I lean on the horizontal to lift the nosewheel and just jockey
the plane around effortlessly.
