I was working on the HS-908 Attach Brackets last night. I dawned on me
that the easiest way to layout the dimensions on the angle was to use a
full-scale drawing as a template. The brackets turned out Great so I
figured I'd share my templates. I've uploaded the templates as a PDF
file to the "Tips, Trick & Suggestions" folder in the "Files" section.
Enjoy!

Dang! Why didn't I think of that?? It took me a loooong time to measure
and draw everything out on that piece of angle last night. When it comes
to figuring out how to measure 32's, my brain quits working. After I got
them cut out, THEN I noticed that the drawing had the exact dimensions on
it.
Keep those tips coming Scott!

Good thinking. Took me a good 4 hours+ to make mine with a hacksaw and

Just a note..... I found that converting the fractions to decimals and using calipers (digital perfered verses Dial) you can set your dimension on the caliper and scribe the part directly. :)

Good idea, Scott, I would probably do that if I did it again. That
said, be careful when photocopying or scanning a drawing--some
photocopiers actually reduce or enlarge slightly when they copy. In
some cases this would not be enough to matter, in other cases it
might. What I also found works is to simply take a piece of tracing
paper and trace it off the drawing, then you're sure to have exactly
the same size templates.

Steve
Very true! In this case, I made the template using a cad program
making a full-scale drawing. When I converted it to a PDF, the
image did shrink! A little measureing and basic math gave my a
scaling factor to adjust the original drawing so that when converted
to a PDF, the image came out the correct size. Not being sure it
would print the same size on all printers, I added the warning about
checking the dimensions before using.

There are a lot brackets like this to be made, a bandsaw with a fine
pitch blade on it will cut aluminium like cheese and makes life a
lot easier. It is also good on thin sheet material which distorts
with snips.
We have used ours a lot.

I have a QB kit, which has much less fabrication required.
I do have a cheap Ryobi bandsaw and had been told that the stock wood
blade cuts Al better than the metal blade. I don't know if that's true,
but with the wood blade it's not so good. And it wanders.
Anyway, my project is on indefinite hold due to a family emergency

No, a blade specifically made for metal with 15 teeth per inch is best. The wood blade will do you no good. See this link - good selection & quality manufacturer
