Home -> RV-9 and RV-9A topic: HS-909 shims

Author: "Smitty" <smitty@...> Time: Sat Aug 20, 2005 3:39 pm PDT Link

I am getting ready to fabricate the 2 HS-909 shims and can't see to locate
the AS3-040 material that is gets cut out of. Am I suppose to use the
material from the sheet metal bundle or am I missing a part? If I am missing
a part, does anyone know which piece from the sheet bundle I'm supposed to
use?

Thanks for your help!

I can't remember it there was a piece with a label on it or not. If there
isn't a piece labeled just make a piece out of .040 in the scrap bundle that
Vans packed with the kit.

I just went through this! Its in one of the little brown bags, can'r
remember the exact number and I'm not at the "hanger". Just look on
the list of what comes in the little brown bags and you'll find what
you're looking for!

Good Luck!

Smitty -
I had the same question. After spending ~10 minutes looking for the shim material, I checked the Bill of Material (packing list) and found them in one of the brown bags (Small Emp Parts #1913).

Thanks Lorin,

After reading your email, I went back to my wall storage unit and look in
the bins where I stored the brown bag stuff. I found the little shim buggers
in the #1903 bag labeled "Small Emp Parts" (they must have changed the bag
number). I had already given up on finding these shims and made some out of
the extra sheet bundle. It's a good thing I found them. The homemade shims I
cutout where too thick.

Thanks everybody!
