Home -> Vans Air Force topic: Engine question

N154PK has 8hrs of flying time and is doing great. There is one bug that
has been bothering me.

When the engine is throttled back from full power there is sometimes a very
slight stumble. It is so brief that it is barely noticable, It happened once
or twice in the first few flights but is so slight that I thought it was my
imagination. I finally noticed a pattern that It seems to be only when I'm
pulling the power back from full.

I am running a O-320-E2D with a marvel carb.

Any ideas?

Pat, The first thing that comes to mind is the carb. Has your carb
been converted to the single piece venturi? When this AD first came
out there were some models of the MA4-SPA that had a vent problem when
using Van's air box. I don't remember the particulars but there was
a modification covered in the RVator. Just something to check.
