I posted the below on the rv3 list, however that list gets very
little traffic so I thought I'd try it here also.
Occasionally at certain engine rpm's and angles of attack like at the
top of loops, in the pattern or even taxing, one of my control
pushrods starts to rattle and can be felt through the stick. It can
usually be stopped if I wiggle the stick some. My system has little
to no play and all connections are ok. Has anyone else noticed this
or know what could stop it?
Thanks,

I think I have seen this in one of two ways.
When I'm taxiing and I let the stick droop full forward (Typically RV-
3 have unballanced elevators) I was finding that it would rattle
quite dramatically. If I pulled back it would go away. I'm not done
tracking that down yet. I'll report more as I find it, cause I think
this is more closely related to what your seeing.
Also (I believe this is a seperate squwak)...
The bushing welded in the stick had warn and was sliding right past
the weldments that hold it in place in the gimbled mixer. There's no
binding and it doesn't cause any loss of control, but the stick would
slide laterally back and forth on that pin when you push forward or
backward.
My plane has been in the shop for a while now and I'm going to fix
that by installing a small piece of tubing over the welments that
will hold the bushing in place.
If anyone else has seen either of these phenomina, please speakup
Thanks,
