Home -> Vans Air Force topic: Landing light location -7A

Author: brian@... Time: Fri Aug 31, 2001 9:22 am PDT Link

When my wing kit arrived there were marks made on my leading edge
skin that indicated that the landing light was to be installed in the
2nd and 3rd outboard ribs on the leading edge. However, I notice that
in the prototype, the landing light is between the 1st and 2nd
outboard ribs. Has anyone else noticed this?
Thanks
Brian

On my 9A kit, the landing light location isn't marked. I'm almost ready to
install them and am trying to decide whether to mount them as far out as
possible or maybe move them in 2 bays so my strobes are more visible when
landing lights are on.

I think i will install mine as far outboard as possible, lilke the prototype. that will provide for easy access to the light when the wing tip is removed and provide for good lighting while landing. I guess it is a "6 of one, half dozen of the other" situation.
Good luck with those tanks! my left tank is complete but not tested yet.
Brian
