Does anybody know if the mag drive gears from Bendix mags will work on Slick
mags for the same engine?

Yes, they will work fine. I used the non-impulse gear from my Bendix mags on
the Lightspeed hall effect pickup and the impulse gear on an impulse Slick
mag. Just beware that the impulse and non-impulse gears are different and
not interchangeable, e.g. if you went dual electronic (with Hall effect)
you'd need to come up with 2 non-impulse gears.

Thanks Greg--next question--can you run 2 impulse mags on one engine?

You bet. The only drawback I'm aware of is the extra cost for the impulse
mag. Plus, of course, finding the 2nd impulse gear, since you normally have
one of each. The plus side is redundancy for starting.

Dual impulse mags are the way to go if you can. I have them on my 0-540
and I almost always get a start on the second blade. Another alternative is
to forego the impulse couplings and get a shower of sparks.
