I am a new builder and am confused with how much to flute the ribs? Are you
just trying to get the flange perpendicular to the web or are you supposed to
flute between each hole on the rib.
Thanks for helping the rookie

Hi Rob. Just flute enough so the rib will lay flat on your work
bench. You will find you don't have to flute at each location
possible, just here and there. Most of my wing ribs only had 3-4
flutes.
Best,

if your ribs are prepunched , lucky you, . lay the rib on a very flat table
over the fluting pattern, then flute where it tells you until it lays flat
and no warping is left. start lightly and go all the way around the rib, you
can always reflute a little deeper to acheive a flat rib.
good luck

As an addendum, after you have fluted the rib flat, you will need to
bend the flanges until they are perpendicular to the web. When you get
to the fuselage, you have the same situation, but you have to match the
flange angle to the taper of the fuse. This ensures a perfect rivet
joint, with no daylight between the flange and the skin.
