Hi...
It's 9:30pm Friday night and I just got back from where the fly-in is
going to be held tomorrow. Chairs and tables, porta potties and the
temporary 'dear stand' control tower is set in place.
15 RVs showed up early - including Bernie Kerr and Tracy Crook from
Florida, a couple from S.Carolina, some from Georgia and Alabama.
Going to bed now... tommorrow the weather looks perfect and we're
hoping to have 125-150 RVs in attendance. I'll take pictures.
What a great hobby...
Best,
Doug R.

Hey Doug,
I was originally planning on attending the Fly-in but, unfortunately, I was a passanger in an airplane accident while practicing "short field" technique today.
We have to meet with the FAA and possibly the NTSB people tomorrow and deal with the wreckage so we won't be able to make it.
I don't want to go into the details yet other than to say that both passangers walked away without a scratch. Unfortunately the plane was not so lucky might be a write off, we don't know yet it's still wrapped around some bushes and trees. I will fill the community in on the details as soon as I can.
On another note, let me fill you in on some scoop that I heard a while back and was going to ask Vans about. I heard that they were working on a patent for the new RV10 wing but I also heard that they were working on having this wing "retrofit" existing models and was good for about a 10 kt gain. Maybe you could ask Vans about that for me.
Mike
