OK I know someone out there has a good home brew for bottom cleaning.
I have tried Simple green, 409, MEK. etc.
Only MEK works like a champ. But cancer, and 12$ a can makes me
leary on the MEK. I could not find anything on the lists.
Anyone with a good mix?
I am burning a bunch of Av gas, and my formation buddies dont like
dirty bottoms. HA!

Might also try GOJO or other waterless hand cleaners.
Avoid Simple Green. See the article on Doug Reeves web site about
USAF testing on Aluminum. Eats it up.

Mike,
Try Stoddard solvent, available just about everywhere (oil suppliers,
auto parts stores, etc.) Cheap, effective, purpose made, fairly
benign, and approved. My simplistic rule for the other stuff is that
if it has a color tint or a color in the name, leave it at home
unless it's purpose made for aircraft.

My own system uses both WD-40 and GOJO... use WD-40 in the spray bottle as the primary cleaner, then go back over the stains that the WD-40 didn't remove with GOJO. This system works great!
