Home -> Vans Air Force topic: Fuel flow

I am looking into adding a fuel flow gage to my RV-4. Has anyone
used the EI FP-5 or FP-5L and if so how has it worked out. Is there
any fuel flow gage out there that someone would recommend that has
worked well. Thanks
Mike

I have an E.I. FP-5 and love it. Once you have a fuel computer you'll wonder how you lived without it. Very useful for assisting with leaning, setting power, and of course managing fuel quantity.

Randy,

Just wanted to say that it was a real pleasure to meet you at Vans' on Wednesday. Nice to finally put a face to name that I've seen on here for so long. Your airplane is a real beauty too.

My friend Mike and I enjoyed really first class hospitality at Vans. We got a very extensive and thorough tour of the factory. We lucked out in the we were the only 2 demo rides they had booked in the afternoon. So, we both got a nice 35 to 40 minute ride and I even did some sight seeing!

Afterwards, we bought our empennage kits. Drove back in to town , PDX, and had our celebratory beer with well thought out toasts. Mike wanted to go get Vans Air Force tattoos but I talked him out of it!

So, waiting to get my kit now.

Take care, and again, glad to finally meet you.

Steve, good meeting you and Mike also! (we met at the parts counter at Van's) Once I met you and realized how far you'd come I wished I had flown my plane down so I could have taken one of you up for a little formation work with the other in the Van's demo ship. Sounds like you got decent rides anyway. Hopefully you enjoyed a quality local microbrew for that toast... ;-)

Now that you're an official builder I'm sure you'll find the other RV builders you meet here on this list a valuable resource. If I can answer any questions just let me know. For RV-8 specific stuff you might also try the rv8list@yahoogroups.com as well.

Happy building,
Randy

ps. congratulations on the proper decision as to where to put the third wheel on your -8!! (donning flameproof suit now)
