Continuing my transition training with Alex DeDominicis this
morning. I did some touch-n-goes in my own plane, from the left
seat. I didn't have to make airplane noises...'Flash' was making
them for me.
Just had to take a moment to let those still building know how
incredibly energizing and satisfying it is to go fly your own plane
before work - to open the hanger, turn on the lights, feel the cool
air and the complete silence. To lift up the canopy... and there are
your headsets...exactly where you left them!
It's the little things in life that bring joy.
Best as always,

Doug,
It would be great to have a running commentary on your test flight regime -
what you're doing, why and the results. We often get to hear about the
building process but very little about the test flight processes beyond the
first flight.

Good idea, Bob.
I plan on (once checked out by Alex) to follow chapters 3, 4, 5 in
http://www.faa.gov/avr/afs/acs/90-89a.pdf pretty much to the letter.
I'll keep you in the loop.
Best,
Doug

Doug and Bob,
Take a look at the RV-9A Yahoo group site. I have my flight test plan
out there for anyone to use. It is based on the FED plan and one I
stole from the Western Canada wing's site.
Doug the original was written for a 6 so you might want to check out
that plan also. It has a few things in it that are not covered in the
FED pamplet.
They also have a very nice POH out there that I also stole and put up
on the 9 group. 90% of the work for the POH is already done and it
has nice VANS graphics included. Edit it in Word.
