Hello listers,
What is the current thinking on which is the best supplier to get
seats from these days? (looking for a good quality cloth seat)
Thanks,
Robert Paisley

I had Becky Orndorff make mine. They are very
comfortable. You can see them on my website, listed
below. Last I heard, she has a 6 month backlog,
though.

Also the ones from DJ Lauritson of Cleveland tool are
very nice. The RV-6A that I am currently doing the
test flying on has the Cleveland seats. What I like
about the Cleveland seats is that they do not wrap
around the stick, and are a little more "low profile"
than Becki's. Either one is great, though.

Why do you like seats that don't wrap around the stick better than those
that do?

Easier removal, not as bulky. Comfort wise, you don't
really notice the part that wraps around the front of
the stick.

Robert...

I think Oregon Aero is the best, and by coincedence also maybe the most
expensive. My wife has a tender back and they have a special process for
molding their aerospace quality cushions to the individual. They are an
impressive company, have done lots of work for the airforce, NASA, not to
mention Jon Johansen, the RV-4 around the world guy. I have been through
their factory and it's something else. We have decided to bite the bullet
$$-wise and go with them for our 6a/E-Soob. Ask for their catalog, it's very
extensive and explains their processes very well. BTW, get that thing flying,
willya, the rest of us need to see what your numbers are... :) Oh, btw, try
oregonaero.com.

Cheers,
Jerry Cochran
