Are shielded P leads necessary or just desired? If so, is there somewhere that explains or shows how they are made and how and where the shield is grounded.
Thanks
Jim

My understanding is that the shielded P leads provide a barrier for
electrical noise that will come through your radio, so I would say that they
are required if you want your transmission and reception to be clear... The
big source for electrical questions is Bob Nuckolls, he runs Aeroelectric
Connection and spends time moderating the Aeroelectric List on
www.Matronics.com . A link to terminating the shielded connections can be
found here, as can several other valuable articles.
