Home -> Vans Air Force topic: Portable Oxygen

Hi all,

Starting the learning curve on portable oxygen for my RV and was
wondering what systems you all are using and if you like them. Also
wondering where you keep the bottle when flying, baggage, front of
spar, hanging from back of seat, etc... What works good, what would
you do different? What capacity do you think is required? Why?

Thanks,
Bryan

I bought mine from Mountain High 2 years ago and wrap the bags strap around the flap "box" in my 6A. I got the next to the largest tank, the tallest would have been a little better when trying to reach the valve and fittings in flight. I looked at quality, price and ease to get it filled. I bought it at Oshkosh ( air show discount ) and get it filled by them for free just over the mountains in Redmond, OR We used it a lot this summer, a lot of flying at altitudes up to 14,500 density alt ??? + a couple of thousand and only went through half of the tank. Oregon to Osh to Maine and back.

I have the Aerox 22 cu ft system. I made a metal doubler for the
removable cover over the Pax side flap cover (in the baggage area)
and mounted the two brackets to that. I can reach it in flight.
Works great. I have been up to 17500'
