Was considering the purchase of an ELT for the 7 and heard through
the grapevine that in the near future that a new requirement is in
the works. Does anyone know what the requirements are?

Around 2009 the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system will quit
monitoring 121.5 MHz signals. They are transitioning to 406 MHz.
I have no idea what the rules will be on 406 MHz ELTs. I suspect
that if they exist now they are expensive.
