Anyone know the current price of the empennage? Jan 1
2005 prices say $2975, but it doesn't show what the
2004 prices are.

Thanks everyone for the responses...I am calling to fax the order in
tomorrow. I will ask about any improvements to the 2005 kits and
post their response for everyone to see. I have heard that the
global cost of aluminum has gone way up this year and that that is
most likely the reason for the increase (fairly good amount of
aluminum in the wings I suppose :)

I suspect the fact that Van's can ship kits as fast as they can be built
might have something to do with a price increase...... ;-)

The Chinese are sucking up all the raw material they can get there
hands on.The dollar is in the toilet and spar material has gone up
with supply and demand,
My Fuse is paid for,$85 savings, should I raid savings and pay for
the finish kit now,I can sell my toy car to make up the loss to
savings later, I can save $150 on the finish kit now ,have the whole
kit home ,put the $235 towards shipping or wait till I get the
fuse done, get fresh rubbber, latest improvements.

Aint that the truth. I went to Lowes and bought a
bunch of wood for my workbenches, and couldn't believe
the price increase. A 4 X 8 sheet of 3/4 inch ply
would cost around $12 a few years ago. Now it is
about $30. My question to they guy there was "why"?
His answer was "The Chinese"

There are some other reasons for the plywood increase: The Gov't (ours)
sent huge loads of plywood to Iraq after the war (which isn't over) and
then the hurricanes that devastated the SE. It's still price gauging,
in my book.
