I need some advice. Several years ago I removed the tanks on my RV-6,
(Iam not the original builder of this plane) so that I could try and
remove the Sloshing compound. There were large sheets of it that had
come loose and floating around. To get it all out I cut out 5 holes
in the back of the tank (1 for each bay) large enough to get my hands
into and scrape it clean. When I re-closed the tanks I covered with
aluminum caps that I sealed with a recommended product from Sealpak.
A two part system made for fuel tanks to mil-S-8802F, spec. I then
used self sealing pulled rivets to set the covers and finally covered
the entire covers rivet heads and seams with the same product. To
shorten this up I have several weeping leaks that appear to be coming
from the rivet and thrugh the sealing material. The question does
anyone have a recommendation on how to re-seal the covers without
taking it all apart. I am hoping to find a product that I can smear
over the whole area that will contin the leaks. Thanks for any help
