What does a facet fuel pump sound like dry? Just got mine wired up
and it sounds like a mini jack hammer. Is this normal? Thank you,
Brian

Well Brian a dry pump sounds like a high pitch jack hammer, while a wet pump has a deeper tone . Like a clicking sound to a thumping sound.
Hope that helps.

Yes this is normal. When it gets gas in it, it quiets down a lot.

it will quiten (if thats a word) down when it gets a little fuel it
it.
But its still rather loud.
Its a solenoid type pump. A piston is sliding back a forth with
ball checks in either end.
If it starts getting quite there is trash in the suction side.
I know from experience.
