Lycoming engine 0-320-H2AD, serial RL-8372-76T 2395 SMOH in 1998, 4790
TT. All logs since Lycoming factory overhaul.
Yikes 2395 total hours and in 7 years. That is about 350 hours a year.
that is pretty good use. However I think if you get it closer to 1700
than $3000 the better. This baby will be needing a overhaul soon. Plus
it is an odd engine (H2AD) which requries mods and a special engine
mount from Vans to fit. Also the Jugs are likely the original with
4790 hours. So new jugs might be needed. with a $10,000-$12,000
overhaul it might be cheaper to get a new O-320 for another $3-$4 grand
or so. No doubt that is why they are buying new.
Appreciate the info, but I would pass. If it was a O-320 E2D or typical
160HP O-320 with constant speed capability it would be worth the $3,000
buy now price.
Cheers George
