Question:
Isn't it a bit parasitic to:

- poll two or three vendors,
- learn the products from them,
- use their time/website/product liturature that is mailed to you/samples they invest in, and
- put them through the bidding process

only so that you can then take their best price to a cash and carry mail order house?

I am a pretty cheap guy, definitely a price shopper. (Harbor Freight Tools and Cheaper Than Dirt have me in their hall of fame.) But I was for many years a partner in a small business that had mostly small business clients. I just can't use a retailers time and money that way unless I tell them up front that I will buy based only on, or principally on, price. I cannot even go to Circuit City or the equivalent, put them through lengthy sales demos and produt liturature, and then turn around and, relying on that no-cost-to-me education, buy the TV or DVD player from an online vendor to save $25. I'm not criticizing anyone. I know that my view might be extreme, that's why I am asking. I might feel differently if I knew of anyone in GA, particularly in the Avionics or FBO businesses, that was striking it rich. The ones I know are in it partially for the love of the sport. So am I. So we are partners -- and I want to see them in business ten years from now.

Mike

I agree with you, Mike. When we find somebody that takes the time to help
educate us, they deserve our business, even if it costs a few bucks more.
