I should make it clear what I meant by parasitic. Lowball pricing is one thing. I have no problem with someone that publishes an attractive price list. AOK with me.
But a dealer that has a standard pricing policy of "bring me your best offer and I'll beat it" seems to be abusing the other dealers, and encouraging less that high integrity in its customers. Bootstrapping your business off the investments of your competitors and having your customers do the dirty work is, in my opinion, wrong.

I try an use a local vendor whenever possible, that way if something goes
wrong I can take it back to them to fix or correct. It is also immediately
available and don't have to wait for shipping. Some folks spend hours shopping
the Internet for the best price, but I put a dollar amount on my time. I much
rather spend my time building, flying or just doing the honey dos to keep my
wife happy. In the end I think I save a lot more money.
